This majestic gala saddle, on display at the Museo de la Charrería, is a true masterpiece of charro art. It is a saddle of canteen and square bastos, carefully embroidered with gold and silver thread, on silver petatillo, showing a dazzling display of craftsmanship.
The Silao style shaft, on the head, shoulders, bell and tile, is adorned with embossed and chiseled silver, adding a touch of opulence to this unique piece. With 18 bulging roses of gold thread. At the front of the head, a rose branch, and in the central part of the head, the eagle debouring the serpent, symbol of the general's status.
The steel hardware, inlaid with silver, highlights the meticulousness and detail in every aspect of its design. In addition, the machete features a metal hilt with the head of an eagle, symbolizing strength and nobility, which belonged to the distinguished General Gonzalo N. Santos, former Governor of San Luis Potosi and central figure in the creation of this museum, as he was a pioneer donor of some of the most valuable pieces in the collection.
