CHARRO SADDLE WITH CHOMITE EMBROIDERY
This saddle on display at the Charreria Museum is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. This is one of four chairs that exhibit meticulous craftsmanship.
Chomite, a delicate worsted yarn, is used to embroider the banquette of each one.
The process involves piercing the surface of the stool and then weaving the heart worsted to create intricate designs. These include grecas, chorizos, cocoles and a magnificent coralillo ornament that takes the form of a greca on one of the chairs. The latter also features detailed running work that adds an extra touch of elegance and craftsmanship to this impressive piece on display in the museum.
