VICENTE FERNANDEZ'S SADDLE
This charro saddle is an authentic jewel donated to the museum by the renowned charro and singer Vicente Fernandez, a true icon and fervent promoter of charreria. As leader of his successful team, Los Tres Potrillos, he left an indelible mark on this traditional Mexican sport.
The frame, crafted with rounded canteens and canes, features luxurious crocodile leather that embraces every detail, including the hardware. This exquisite craftsmanship provides an unparalleled touch of elegance and authenticity. The breastplate has the initials "VFG" engraved on its shaft, paying homage to Vicente Fernandez Gomez and further personalizing this masterpiece.
The seat, cozily covered with sheepskin, provides the rider with unparalleled comfort. The serape, in shades of red and black, proudly bears the name "Tres Potrillos", paying homage to the team that led the charrería to the top.
Although the contralátigo is missing, the suede and crocodile leather chaps add an extra touch of distinction and protection. This saddle is more than a functional piece; it is a tangible testament to Vicente Fernandez's love and respect for Mexico's rich equestrian tradition, a heritage that now lives on in this museum for future generations to enjoy.
